Welcome

Welcome to my own little corner of cyberspace for all things Stephanie Plum and much, much more. I absolutely love - Okay, I'm completely obsessed with- Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. After diligent searching for anything Plum on the internet, I discovered that the Stephanie 411 was next to nil. So this is my own little contribution to the lingerie buyer turned bounty hunter world of Stephanie Plum whose lot in life is to choose between two blindingly delicious, strong, sexy men; escape the occasional car fire; and refrain from the temptations of a delectible boston creme donut threatening to widen her waistline.

Welcome to Stephanie's Obsession! Please Enjoy!

One for the Money Related Posts on New Release Date

I thought I'd post a few articles that give us a few takes on why "One for the Money" was pushed so far out.

This is from http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/lionsgate-pushes-one-money-jan-170598

"Studios have been busy this week dating movies, including Lionsgate, which will now release Katherine Heigl comedy crime pic One for the Money on Jan. 27, 2012.

One for the Money was originally intended to open this summer, but Lionsgate decided the film was better suited for January, which has become a popular month to open female-skewing fare. (Also, the studio’s fall calendar is full.)

The movie is based on Jane Evanovich’s bestselling book series about female bounty hunter Stephanie Plum."

This article is from: http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/archives/lionsgate_schedules_katherine_heigls_one_for_the_money_with_a_january_27/
"THR reports that “One For The Money” will now arrive on January 27, 2012 which speaks volumes. Heigl’s last two films—“Life As We Know It” and “Killers”—wound up doing okay business worldwide, but were not the “27 Dresses” or “The Ugly Truth-” sized hits execs were hoping. But the move to early winter, which might be perceived as a dumping ground, is actually a pretty smart move.

The biggest hit of Heigl’s career—“27 Dresses”—had a January bow. Moreover, this year saw Paramount do very well with a female led rom-com, Natalie Portman‘s “No Strings Attached,” which surprised everyone by snagging $70 million domestically and earning over $120 million worldwide. Instead of taking a chance on counter-programming, Lionsgate are taking the safer bet that the dearth of competition in January—which tends to be the leanest of release months—will spell financial success. And the strategy has worked before. Last year, the studio yanked Nic Cage‘s “Season Of The Witch” from its March date and re-scheduled it for the first weekend in January this year. The result? $79 million worldwide. Certainly a much better take than if it had tried to square off in a much more crowded spring frame.

And oh yeah, in case you forgot, “One For The Money” is based on the Janet Evanovich book about a newly-divorced, recently laid-off 30-year-old (Heigl) in New Jersey who becomes a bounty hunter. When life you hands you lemons…you become a bounty hunter."

I, like you, am extremly bummed about the new release date, but I'm trying to think positive. Maybe there is some method to Lionsgate's madness here. If "27 Dresses" did so well with a January release date, then maybe it's not such a bad idea afterall!!

I'm just worried about how the media, the fans, the curious about the new movie, and the undecided are going to perceive all these date bumps!  Irregardless of Lionsgate's release date musical chairs, I remain a true believer that this movie is going to kick butt, and I'm still planning on sitting anxiously in my seat opening night, whenever that might be, with my buttered popcorn, Red Vines, and bottled water thoroughly blown away by my beloved book coming to life!! I don't care what anyone says...Katherine Heigl is Stephanie Plum, and she is going to rock this movie.!!!!

I know this is frustrating, guys, but we've waited years for anyone to even think about making "One for the Money", so we can push ourselves through 10 more months for the good of the movie, right? Maybe?

All I can say is Lionsgate better release an awesome trailer and some kick ass stills to tide me over until then cuz I don't know how long my nearly opaque patience can hold out...Mama ain't happy!! Make me happy, Lionsgate!!  Redeem yourselves!!

P.S. A public statement revealing how successful the prescreenings were might not be a bad idea either to set some speculating minds at ease! JMHO!!

C'mon guys! The release news was a major blow to the guts, but we are Plum fans...and Plum fans are badass!! Okay that was corny, but I'm feeling a little Braveheartesque this morning. hahaha!!

Box Office Mojo Announces New Release Date for "One for the Money."

Grrrrr!!!

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/schedule/?view=changes&p=.htm

New Release Date for "One for the Money."

Looks like we are going to have a long wait ahead of us to see "One for the Money."  The new release date for this movie is going to be......*deep cleansing breaths*.....*swallowing the venomous itch welling up in the back of my throat*    January 27, 2012. I would really like to say a few choice words right now, spit fireballs from my eye sockets, and stomp my feet like a 4-year-old, but I'm not gonna.

I guess to look on the bright side...at least we have a release date to look forward to right?....right?....anybody?  Ya....not working for me either. I think I need a stiff drink.

Comments are surely welcome...I'm sure that all of you will articulate exactly what I'm feeling right at this moment. :(

"One for the Money" star, Katherine Heigl has a Huge Heart!

I know this is off the cuff here, but this is just another reason I admire this woman so much! According to kheigl.com, Katherine Heigl rescued a bait dog.

The poor little guy, aside from puncture wounds and abscesses on his neck, also has some broken vertebrae and will be in a cast for several months. Katherine will be taking care of the dog while he recovers, and then she will try to find a suitible home for him. If she cannot find a home for him, she will adopt him herself. AWWWW...

FINALLY....A Word from Lionsgate about the Release

Lionsgate has finally thrown us a bone. According to EW.com, Lionsgate is just trying to find the right date for the movie.

Lionsgate has pulled the Katherine Heigl comedy thriller One for the Money from its summer slate to an undetermined date this year. The film, based on the popular Janet Evanovich novels about bail bondswoman Stephanie Plum, had been moved from July 8 to June 3 earlier this month to keep it out of the way of Sony Pictures’ The Zookeeper and Warner Bros.’ Horrible Bosses (both comedies). The June date, however, placed the film against Fox’s superhero mega-prequel X-Men: First Class. “We just want to find the right home for [the film],” a Lionsgate rep tells EW, “and that [date] didn’t feel like it.”
Still no official word as to when it will be coming out, but at least Lionsgate is talking. I'm sure trying to find a date to fit around all the actor's schedules for the press junkets, publicity, talk show interviews, etc... and trying to find an opening weekend where they are not competing with any mega hits so they have a very successful opening weekend would be significantly hard. Hopefully they can pull it all together and give us an actual date fairly soon, but at least this calms my fears that they are pulling it.

What do you think guys? What do you predict will be their next release date?

Thanks so much anonymous tipster! You're the best!!

What are Your Favorite Books of the Stephanie Plum Series?

We are still waiting for an official release date for "One for the Money," and to that I say..."Wow....really?" :P

On that note, a lovely SO reader came up with something we can discuss in the meantime which I think is great fun.

Thanks, Iheartjason, for the topic idea!

What's your favorite Plum Book?

Iheartjason had to say: "I love Two for the Dough,Seven Up and Eleven on Top--
What can beat Grandma Mazur at Steva's, Mooner and Dougie and Steph working at Kan Klean Kleaners and Cluck in a Bucket-And I love Bob---"

I have to agree with Iheartjason. I love "Two for the dough", "Eleven on Top", and also the book where Lula goes on a diet and gets chased by the pack of dogs running down the street after her pound of bacon. haha Does anyone know which book that is? I can't keep track. "To the nines" maybe?

Anyhoo...I am going to take this up a notch and also ask the question, Who are your favorite characters?

Mine are:

Stephanie, of course. She's fearless, lucky, and has a badass attitude....a woman after my own heart!
Joe and Ranger. I put them on the same line because for reasons known to all of you I love these 2 the same and I wouldn't mind either one of them in my bed...sans the husband of course. tee-hee...love you honey...promise! Morelli is warm, laid back, protective, and ever so talented in the bedroom department, and Ranger is mysterious, dangerous, and catch your breath insanely good in the please you till your warm, gooey jelly department. And he's always there to save Steph's life...no matter at what cost.
Lula - because she's the big, beautiful, bodacious Lula, and she is not afraid to express what she is feeling at any given time. She is always coming down with a case of the runs! Oh...and she is constantly tasing Joyce Barnhardt. LOL She makes me laugh!
And last but certainly not least, Grandma Mazur...just cuz she is a total horn dog and has an uncanny knack for being able to see the deceased. Oh and she looks hot in her spiked dog collar and leather pants. LOL :)

So, ladies and gents...What are your favorite books, and who are your favorite characters, and why?

Release Date Related Articles for "One for the Money" Movie

Hey guys,

I thought I would post a few articles that have came out on the release date.

This one is from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

"Today's news is no news.

Lionsgate now says "One for the Money" has a release date to be determined. It most recently had been slotted for June 3 and, before that, July. So stay tuned for the new opening date.

"One for the Money" stars Katherine Heigl as Stephanie Plum, a lingerie buyer who loses her job and finds herself working for her sleazy cousin's bail bonding company. It's based on the first of a hugely popular series by Janet Evanovich and also stars Debbie Reynolds (pictured, right in Lionsgate photo), Jason O'Mara, Daniel Sunjata and John Leguizamo.

It filmed in the Pittsburgh area – the North Side, Friendship-Bloomfield, Braddock, Wilkinsburg and many other locations – along with Ambridge in Beaver County – in summer 2010.

The selection of a release date is a delicate dance. Lionsgate most likely doesn't want to open in the shadow of a guaranteed hit such as the new "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie and may want to offer women an alternative to a movie primarily aimed at young men and teens."

And this one is from The Beaver County Times Online, the post that Allie pointed us to the other day:

"A release date is now up in the air for the locally made movie "One for the Money."

Lionsgate studio announced Monday the national release date is "to be determined" for the Katherine Heigl movie, shot in Pittsburgh and Ambridge.

Four days earlier, Lionsgate had announced the release date would be June 3, a month earlier than initially planned.

Variety magazine reported Lionsgate backed down from its original July 8 release plans because "One for the Money" would face competition from two other comedies; "Zookeeper" with Kevin James and "Horrible Bosses" directed by Seth Rogen.

The June 3 date would have pitted "One for the Money" against one of the summer's guaranteed blockbusters "X-Men: First Class."

Let's all send out some positive vibes for some awesome release date news soon!!  Hopefully good news is on the way!!

Not-So-Patiently Waiting for the Latest "One For the Money" Movie News

I don't know about you guys, but this waiting to find out when the new movie release date will be is killing me! I've been looking in vain for any type of hint, tidbit, leak, explaination I can find on the web, and I am coming up with something in the area of "not a freaking thing." This irritates me to no end!

The only thing I have been able to find on the internet are some more catty articles from self-loathing journalists predicting the movie to fail because they still have a stick up their self-righteous ass about something that Katherine Heigl has said in the past. These writers pounce desperately on comments KH has said about things in her career and have blown them so wildly out of proportion just so they could drag her name through the mud and turn her into the present Hollywood escape goat. Like I have said before with gusto, since when is it a crime for an accomplished woman to speak her mind and call it like it is instead of hiding behind publicists just spouting bullshit that they think everyone wants to hear?

Here's a news flash...Katherine Heigl can act!!!...and she is going to rock this movie and make all these knit-picky, adjective-slingin', frauds eat their own shit-stained words!

As for the comments that the rest of the cast are a bunch of no-names further dooming this movie to flop...I say every big name out there from DeNiro to Nicholson to Meryl Streep to Audrey Hepburn were all at one time so-called no-names.  Jason O'Mara for one can't be too bad an actor to land a prime role on the Spielberg directed "Terra Nova." Spielberg has an amazing eye for talent, and if O'Mara has caught Steven Spielberg's eye, then he's definitely no slouch when it comes to acting.

In fact, not having a well-known, over-exposed cast has the advantage of bringing a kind of fresh slate to the movie enabling the actors/actresses to take on the characters of the movie without being overshadowed by their big name personas.

And I am going to stop my ranting and raving tirade there...:P

Back to my original point:

I really hope - more like demand -  that Lionsgate does right by this movie releasing it sooner than later, comes out with a knock your socks off trailer preferably today, and starts their publicity tour pronto so that people can start getting amped about this movie....hence a good turnout at the theaters opening weekend.  And...looking farther on down the road.........sequels!!!!!

So there you go. That's my whiny bitch fest for the month...That after I just got finished saying that this was a fun, positive site.....(Sorry guys, I just had to say it.)

One for the Money Release TBA???

Hey guys,

I'm not sure what is going on here, but according to Box Office Mojo, Lionsgate has taken "One for the Money" off the release calendar. I know this is disappointing, but nobody panic yet! (Easier said than done for sure!) As far as I know, the early preview went really well, so they can't be taking it off inevitably. Hopefully this means maybe they will move it even closer and not farther away. Otherwise they are going to have a very angry mob on their hands....me included!

Hopefully, Monday will bring some good news!!  Keep your fingers crossed, people!! I'll keep you guys posted. As always, if someone gets wind of anything before me, please shoot me an email, and I'll post it right away!

Janet Evanovich's "Smokin Seventeen" Excerpt

Janet has released an excerpt from her new book, 'Smokin' Seventeen' going on sale June 21, 2011.

"ON SALE JUNE 21

Where there's smoke there's fire, and no one knows this better than New Jersey bounty hunter, Stephanie Plum.

Dead bodies are showing up in shallow graves on the empty construction lot of Vincent Plum Bail Bonds. No one is sure who the killer is, or why the victims have been offed, but what is clear is that Stephanie's name is on the killer's list.

Short on time to find evidence proving the killer's identity, things get even more complicated for Stephanie when family and friends decide it's time for her to decide between long-time off-again-on-again boyfriend, Trenton cop, Joe Morelli, and the bad boy in her life, security expert, Ranger. Stephanie's mom is encouraging Stephanie to dump them both, and choose a former high school football star who has just returned to town. Stephanie's sidekick, Lula, is encouraging Stephanie to have a red-hot boudoir "bake-off". And Grandma Bella, Morelli's old world grandmother, is encouraging Stephanie to move to a new state when she puts "the eye" on Stephanie.

With a cold-blooded killer after her, a handful of hot men and a capture list that includes a dancing bear and a senior citizen vampire, Stephanie's life looks like it's about to go up in smoke.

Awesome News "OFTM" Fans...Earlier Release Date for the Movie

We get to see "One for the Money" a month earlier! It's official, the new release date is going to be June 3, 2011! Squee!!!

The postproduction of the movie must be coming along very nicely. I know that they had a screening for it already, but I'm sure they still have a little tweaking to do on the finished product!! This just seems like very good news. I wonder if the prescreening had such a good response that they decided to move it up instead of back. I know there were a few other big contenders being released around the July 8th date, so they were toying with the idea to move the date back, but this is awesome to learn that they are confident enough in their product to move it a month forward! I think this is a very good sign!! I am sooooooo happy right now!!

Thanks for all the tips on this exciting, fantastic news!!! I am sooooooo doing the KH happy dance!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you Lionsgate/Lakeshore! I guess I won't picket the front of your buildings demanding a trailer....just yet! :)

Happy, Happy Birthday Joe Morelli!!

Yes ladies, that beautiful Italian slab of man beef is turning 30 something today! Happy, happy birthday Joe! I'll grab a nice, greasy pizza from Pino's, an ice cold 6-pack of beer, and since you are imaginary and that constitutes a free pass with my husband, I'll make this your best birthday EVER!! (Did I just say that out loud?) Tee-hee! Sorry guys.

Below is the cake that Janet Evanovich had made for the birthday boy...lemon meringue MMMMMM!!!

And here's a little note from Janet:  "The weather has been a bit rough this winter, so Stephanie thought she would bring him a little summer at the Jersey Shore. She had the Tasty Pastry bake him this delicious lemon meringue pie cake, complete with tropical drink umbrellas. Of course it wouldn't be a party without party ware, so Stephanie also included his and her beers in their party shirt cozies/coozies."

I wouldn't mind eating a little off his washboard abs...oops... there I go again!!! LOL

Anyhoo! Happy Birthday Joe Morelli!!
